El Rancho

On the 10th of september my class split up into groups and went to El Rancho. I went in a van with Drew, Niko, and his mum and her boyfriend. then me, Drew, and Niko got there early so we could play on the park. Then everyone else arrived in the buses. So when everyone got there we split back up into our groups.

So then all the groups went to there first activity, mine was kyaking. First we put on life jackets and then went over some safety drills. After that we got onto the water and just paddled around for a bit then we all got into a line with our kyaks but i got a bit scared cause i stood up on the kyak and said my name and a animal that started with the same letter at the start of my name. But overall I thought it was alright

Next I went to archery and that was definately my favourite activity. I hit all of my shots and we played a game that I won for us but I had fun and thats all that really matters. It was also a bit funny to becuase Drew was always screaming and everyone was telling him to shut up.

Then we went to the escape room which was confusing and fun becuase I was partly trying to sleep and I was being useless. but then a couple of people in my group said to help them figure it out. The escaping was pretty hard and the superviser had to help us get out. But then again we only had half an hour. But overall it was pretty cool but it was probably my least favourite activity of the day.

3. yes becuase salva hasn't seen his family in 19 years.
4. bring them together becuase having clean water is a great thing to have and should be celebrated. ecspecially if they used to have dirty water.

Zoos should be banned

Zoos should be banned because it’s keeping the animals hostage. The animals are just trapped in a zoo with barely anything to do except look through the glass. The animals deserve to be free and let out into the wild. But if a particular animal is endangered then it is probably better for them in a zoo. Animals should be able to do what they want and not be controlled by a zookeeper.

Zoos should be banned because the animals might get scared from a person or a kid. People could hurt the animals or kill the animals. So the zoos should be banned also some kids might be stupid and mess around with the animals and could get him and the animal injured. Kids could bang on the glass and smash it and the animals could run away.

Zoos should be banned because animals could hurt each other or fight with each other. Animals can break the glass or run away. The animals could get lost and not be able to make it back to their home in the zoo. Animals could hurt people or kids or even the zookeeper. Animals could hurt the zookeeper when he’s trying to feed them their food.

Zoos should be banned and the animals should be able to be free unless they are endangered. But zoos are a good way for kids or adults to learn about animals or see one that they've never seen before.

A long walk to water section 5

1. I recon that the boss's leadership technics are amazing becuase they get more than one chance and then he will get mad.

2. Salva makes sure everyone has a job and gets enough food and water. On the other hand the boss is nice he jokes around so that they will be good and will contribute to jobs and work. If that doesn't work he will give them a serious talk and if that does not work. He gets mad.

3. michael is a aid worker and he is just nice that's why he helped Salva read and write. it's important that he heaps he didn't have a great education before that.

4. The lost boys are the people who got sent off to different countries. I would still feel anxious and scared even though i would go to a new family.

Part 4-Discussions Questions

1. I think If his uncle wasn't with him he would share becuase he is generous.
2.  maybe some of his family memers died and he wanted to evenge them.
3. salva will proove that he is strong and won't slow them down.
4. When he thought he saw his mum but he didn't so he thought they were gone. When his uncle said we just need to get to the bushes when they were in the desert.

1. Salva's uncle helps him overcome his fear by calming him down becuase Salva was scared and worried.
 I don't think so.
2. I think the desert was the worst element becuase he stubbed his toe and his toe nail came off. He also got tired and scared but his uncle helped him to get through it.
3. He points to some bushes and said hey see those bushes Salva we just need to get to them. do you think you can do that Salva.
Salva probably would have gone crazy and would've got scared and most probably eaten.
I don't understand this question.
4.  Don't take things for granted, appreciate what you've got.

1. The groups think that salva will waste food and water and slow them down. I feel bad for salva and annoyed becuase he is just a kid.
2. Water cantrols Nya's life becuase she has no choice about getting water for her family. My brain dictates my life becuase it controls everything I do.
3. Don't go towards the other Tribes. Birds can lead to honey. Don't go towards wild animals. I think that salva is doing great because when he is on his own he stays calm.
4. The lake camp shelter is horrible but she doesn't have to get water and walk for 8 hours. safety is way worse at the camp than it is her house.

1.Salva is 11 years old he has three brothers arik, kuol, and ring. He has 2 sisters akit and agnath  and he is from the dinka tribe. there is the neur tribe which is like there enemies. I don't really think i'm like him.
2. where is my family. where am i going. when will i see them again. These three questions are what Salva said to himself in his mind.
3. I would think it would be horrible and preasured because she has to walk half a morning (8 hours) there and back. if she spills it she will have to go back. She has no shoes and she got a thorn stuck in her foot. She would have to carry a heavy water caintainer for 4 hours.
4. The Dinka tribe was his tribe so if someone had a v on there forehead and the Nuer tribe would have something else. I can't really tell cultures apart execpt when they have an accent.

Boatman

Once upon a time there was a boatman. Who went out fishing to try to get some food to eat for dinner. It was about midnight when he went out and no one was to be seen and no animals. He caught a fish and brought it home to eat it. But when got home there was a light on. And he thought he was dreaming because he is actually the only person in the world and everyone in the world was killed by something never seen by human eyes before. The thing that killed the whole world wiped out all the electricity and so the light should not be on. So the next he went fishing and then he thought if there is no animals how is there fish and eels and other sea animals. Then he thought to himself, maybe the thing only killed the land creatures. Maybe there are other people still alive but they were just under water when it happened so he went back to shore and started to look for people.
 But on his way there a shark came and knocked his boat over and so he tried getting back to shore but the shark came and was just about to eat him but then it stopped. The boatman wondered why it stopped and all the other fish and eels and other sea animals just vanished. Then he went back to shore with his light still on and wondered why the animals vanished and the land creatures. He went back out and it was morning he saw something in the distance and it was a human he swam to him or her but then he got stuck and got taken underwater by nothing and then he realized that his foot was stuck under a rock ugh he screamed as his mouth filled with water as he got killed by the other human. Then the person that killed him said bye bye boatman. But the person killed a different person not the boatman a free man. As he realized that he got struck from behind by the boatman.

And then he looked back at his house and the light was off and he thought the power went out but nope the power was on because he could just flick a switch and the light would come on. So then the boat man went for a trip to find other people but he found nobody. He looked again but this time he saw something moving he went over to see what it was. Then when he got there he saw nothing and then he heard creaking from behind he looked behind him but nothing. The sound was getting closer and closer but nothing was to be seen. Then bang a single gunshot was fired but from nowhere then the boatman realized there were wooden boards underneath his feet with little cracks. Then he saw a person when he saw her she ran from the wooden boards to house she lived in. He saw her go in there but she didn’t know that. The boatman went to the house then he heard gunshots he ran upstairs to see what it was but there was no body just blood. As he ran downstairs and out the door he saw shadow standing over the body in the lounge. The boatman was scared so he ran but knowing there was another person in the house so the next day he went to investigate the house. And it was clean and tidy with nothing or nobody to be seen no blood no nothing. Then he ran to the lounge but nothing.

He started to panic then he heard a noise coming from the attic. He went upstairs to see what the noise was but nothing was there but then he saw a shadow in the corner of the room. Bang the shadow tried to shoot the boatman but he missed the boatman ran downstairs and out the door, he ran to his house without looking back. The man followed him and the boatman didn’t know so the man creeped up to the door punched it down but no one was there he looked around and still no one. Ahhhhhhhhh from out of nowhere the boatman jumped from roof strangling him to death. Now knowing he was dead he could go back and look at the house. This time when he was upstairs he saw the body he ran up to her and she wasn’t dead she was bleeding out. The boatman didn’t know what to do. So he just ran to the nearby hospital and got some bandages and meds. When the boatman came back she was gone blood on the floor but no body. The boatman looked everywhere in the house but there was only blood. The boatman said oh well and left the house just laughing because the girl was stuffed without him so he just went home. Soon there was a knock at the door he opened it and the girl was standing there without a scratch no blood no wound no nothing. He thought it might twin sister or if he was just dreaming but it was the same girl from the house. He asked how you healed so fast. She didn’t reply so he asked again but no words would come out of her mouth so he just shut the door and went to sleep. Another knock he opened it it was someone else this time it was a boy.

Narrative Pick a Path

This term we have been learning about narrative writing. We also got to choose between animation or pick a path and I chose pick a path.

The Fortnite Revolution

What should I choose for my locker or should I randomize it? Hmmmm, I think I'm going to randomize it. Ok, I'm in the battle bus, where should I go I ask myself? I know I’m going to either go to Retail Row or Loot Lake. I'll go Loot Lake. Oh no! I just got shredded while I was landing. Bang! I sniped him with my heavy sniper after I landed. I go camp in a bush because I'm low on health. Many deaths later... Hmmm, should I stay here until there is not many people left or should I go look for meds? I think I’m going to go look for meds, shoot! I get sniped at. He rushes me and so then we end up in a build battle but I get a lucky shot and no-scope him 2 metres away with my heavy sniper.  So then it said in the kill feed donald345-cullen no-scoped player431.

 Luckily he had  meds for me and so I healed up and carried on trying to find someone to fight. I see someone and he does not see me. I am the sneaky main. Actually, I think I will just lay back. Many deaths later... Ok two more people. I can do this. Ok there is someone in a base and I don’t know where the other guy is. I think I'll push the guy in the base. Bang! 220 to the head! Shoot! How did I lose that much fall damage (97). Ok three hp and a dream. I just need to find meds so I can heal up and fight the other guy. Shoot! He’s pushing me but I have nothing to heal with. Oosh! There is a bush right here, I think I’ll just stay here until he goes away,
Ok cool, he’s gone. Maybe I could find some apples or mushrooms.

 Oh yes! The circle is ending at Moisty Mire there is heaps of mushrooms there. Ok, the last guy is just sitting in a base. Haha loser. I can just heal while he’s up there. Or should I push? Nah I won't push I will just heal up instead.
Ok, I think I’m gonna push him. Or I could keep camping actually nah stuff it I’m going to push him.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Finally I get a shot to him, 68 damage and then I hit him again for 12 In the head. Bang! He pumps me in the head. I have 11 health left Bang! I hit him for 100. So I do the math and that means he has 20 hp. Shoot I’m on 3 hp because the storm is pressuring me. Bang I shoot him for 5 and 14 and then bang I hit him for 220. Oh yes! my 150th solo win. Ok, what dance oh I think I will go with the most triggering dance laugh it up. Ok guess I'll just go back to the lobby. Ok, let's just start another game and get another win. Days later. Ohhhhh yes! 417 squad wins, 197 duo wins and 180 solo wins.

I learnt about pick a path and animation through out this term and I have been working on this at the start or June to early July and finished on 2nd of July. I had a great experiance learning about pick a path because I had never done it.

The Rocket Challenge

The Rocket Challenge
Me, Rongotai and Niko made a rocket with fins and decorations

and on the 21/6/19 we did our launch. It didn't end well though because it probably went like 14 metres. Next time we will have work on the fins because one fell off when we lunched it.

I have 2 brothers, 1 sister, no pets, 1 dad and 1 mum.

I'm a year 7 at Otaki College. 

 I have 3 friends Drew, Te Wano and Niko.

The Horses

Once there was a couple of horses who were friends. Until this day Jack yelled at Jill for not coming with Jack to the volcano. But really that was a dumb reason to be mad about something. But then Jack then said that he was sorry and that they should take a walk up to the volcano. Of course jill said yes because she likes him so While they were walking they were talking about what they were going to dinner. Soon they were at the top. Ouch. Jill tripped over a rock and Jack pushed her in the volcano Jill screamed as she fell. Jack laughed as he got his revenge on Jill for not coming to the volcano before. Surprisingly Jill survived because she landed on a ledge and could climb back up. Ughhhhh said Jack after he got pushed in from Jill and then Jill just sat there for a while. Brutally she accepted faith and jumped off. When Jill hit the lava the volcano erupted then Jack and Jill came flying out as thousands of pieces of ash.

Jack and Jill were now famous because some mysterious person had videoed the whole thing. obviously it got millions of hits and was on the news, youtube, and facebook then it was world wide. No one knows who recorded it, so that mystery will just go on forever. The very volcano still stands today but will never erupt again so if another horse goes in there it will never come back out or stand foot on the real world. Jack and Jill were now in a movie and in a book.

Some people thought Jill was cooler than Jack and some people thought that Jack was cooler than Jill. One person think Jack and Jill are both dumb and so is the myth about them. But now after his or her opinion everyone thinks that he recorded the video.

He probably did because he always looks suspicious when people bring it up. He just stands there agreeing to everything that everyone says.

The Chasing Dino

Once there was a little girl called josephine. She was taking a nice nature walk that turned into a
horror show. She found an egg, a big egg that she picked up bang a rock shattered into pieces,
the cave tumbled down blocking the entrance. She climbed looking for a way to get out she was
stuck. She heard footsteps coming from behind it was the dinosaur that looked pretty angry
about her missing egg. She looked at the little girl the dino ran at her but the josephine had
moved so that the dinosaur banged into the wall smashing her free.

When the dinosaur got up josephine was long gone. The dinosaur saw the girl in the distance
and chased after her as the dinosaur was getting closer and closer.

Soon the dinosaur catched up to her and snatched the egg out of her hands.
while she ran faster and faster but she then tripped up on a stone the dinosaur got her.
The girl tried to escape but couldn’t budge. The dinosaur took her back to the cave.
The girl hadn’t been killed though she was never to be seen again.

The Hook

There once was a dog. But he got lost while he was at the park with darrel, his dog owner. The dog was somewhere in the park Darrel called out but no bark was to be heard. But the real question is, was the dog even at the park. yes he was but there he was in a mysterious mans arms. Lucky jumped out to Darrel but the man grabbed him back as the dog barked. Darrel ran at him but then, poof the man disappered as Lucky dropped to the ground. Darrel picked him up then they went to the vet. the mysterious man was standing there starring at them. They ran out as the man followed.

The Baby

One afternoon a family was on a boat until it crashed. Suddenly the baby fell out and survived but the rest didn’t. A tiger found the baby just as the tiger was going to eat him a lion came out of nowhere and rescued him. Surprisingly he woke up safe and sound in a cave the lion had taken him there. But then the tiger find him again by then the baby was now 4 the lion had given him food for 3 and a half years. Then there was a bang.

The tiger that was chasing him got shot by a human. Then more tigers came and more humans came. Soon they were all fighting the humans won but 5 were killed and 3 were injured. Quietly the humans cried then picked up the baby one family decided to adopt him. As the years went past the boy grew older when he was 12 he had learnt the story of his past. As much as he liked his new family he ran off when he was 14 and found same lion that had helped him when he was a baby. So he lived with the lion the the rest of his life.

15 Minute Writing

The beast was a scared beast, well only of one thing. That was his dad who was 4 times bigger than his son but the dad would always slowly but surely kill him. But the beast would live in his cave and he can’t get out until midnight he would be starving each time by the time he was unlocked from his cave. So when he got out he would go to the nearest town and eat 1 person.

Sometimes he would take 1 to his cave to cook over a barbecue. Cause he likes things toasted and roasted for tea. Slowly, he would eat them until one night on the stroke of midnight the cave wouldn’t unlock. Brutally he ate more of the people he had stored in his freezer. Slowly he was running out of food. He new his dad did this to him, 3 days later he could go out he didn’t know why but the thought his dad must’ve died. But how he was the biggest threat in the world. His father died of loneliness. But you’re probably wondering how he got back in the cave when he flew out. Well each time he falls asleep the curse made him wake up in the cave. But now he was free forever so he didn’t eat people he ate grass cause he turned into a goat when his dad died. Cause before that he was a goat in south Asia so when he fell asleep as a beast the next day. He woke up as a goat and lived happily ever after.

Troll and wolfgang magical musical circus reveiw

Troll by the trick of the light theatre.


I thought it was a good show. I think it could of been better if there was a mum and dad acting.
but I laughed a few times and they were keeping us entertanied by having a couple scary bit and funny bits. it was my second favourite because the other plays were really good too. troll was an interisting play I liked the guy that woke up early in the morning cause thats just like me on the weekends.
troll was like trying to make people not bullie others and treat them as we would want to be treated.
I got that it was a deppresion show. and that was the main point of the first show we watched(troll).

This show was by far my definate favourite show I loved everything about the peformance except that it was akward for some parts when they did really flexible stuff. which was cool but weird other then that it was really good and nothing was bad maybe they could use a bit more practice with the paper.
cause the girl dropped it once which wasn't her fault cause I couldn't do better there were heaps of parts that I liked. My favourite part was when the guy got dressed on the bike. cause that was amazing.

Sence poem

My Room

As I walk In I see a mess.
I don't like cleaning it I have to confess.
I struggle to find stuff so I have to feel around.
I had to clean up so I did.
It was done I felt as free as a cloud.

The Beach

The beach is blue like, how it shimmers at night.
I hear the waves splashing one after another.
I see the blue sea, so calm.
I feel the cold water go up my spine.

The Kitchen

I smell the burning cake.
I picked up the cake for heaven sake.
I saw the smoke burning up towards the smoke alarm.
Then I heard the smoke alarm go off and then I got a fright.
As I bit it and chewed it my mouth started to burn.

I feel my fingers move on the controller so fast.
I taste a victory royale.
I see a person in a build battle.
I hear footsteps in my house as Im looting.
